Bentley Motors Limited couldn’t keep up with the financial pressures and even though Woolf Barnato tried his best to keep the company above the surface, it just wasn’t to be and Bentley was sold to Rolls Royce in 1931. The firm was acquired by Rolls Royce under a secret name using an entity which was named the British Central Equitable Trust. The new Bentley 3.5 liter was then introduced in 1933
